Absinthe

on Tuesday, March 18, 2014
As a thank you for all the hard work put into making Caesars Entertainment's New Years Eve parties (there's 7) a great success, my director and VP gave everyone at work 2 tickets to any CET show of choice. Since my time left in Las Vegas is quickly dwindling down, Dustin and I decided to use the tickets this past weekend! As a Las Vegan, I have heard great things about Absinthe ever since moving here and have always wanted to go. So Friday night, once Dustin made it into town from Phoenix, we went to the 10pm show!

It was AWESOME! It was a great blend of acrobatics, comedy, and hilarious entertainment.

It's a little raunchy during some parts, so I would NOT recommend it for children, but as a couple, both Dustin and I were extremely happy with it. Both our stomachs and cheeks were sore from laughing so much!

The rest of the weekend was my bachelorette party, but sorry, no updates on that! What happens at the bach party, stays at the bach party! ;)

Book Club: Session 1

on Friday, March 14, 2014
Last year I bought myself a Kindle Fire. I've used it a good amount, but haven't felt like I've really gotten the whole shebang from it. On Tuesday, I decided it was time to work on that.

So I bought Divergent...
And then Insurgent...
And then Allegiant...
All within 72 hours of each other.
Talk about obsession! I literally sat at home all day Tuesday/Wednesday and read. I'm still working on Allegiant, but I don't think it will take too long to cross that off the list.

Of course as soon as I finished Divergent, I had to watch the trailer for the movie since it comes out March 21. I must say, the actor they cast to play Four/Tobias is NOT what I pictured. BUT, supposedly Theo James did all his own stunts, so I guess I should wait to make a decision after I see the movie next Friday. :)

When I was trying to decide what to read, a list I had pinned on Pinterest came to mind. It lists books that are being made into motion pictures throughout 2014. Perfect! It gives me a deadline to read it by and I just loooooove crossing off lists. ;) You can check it out here. I don't think I will read EVERY book on the list, but I think most sound like they'd be worth checking out.

TGIF! <3

NASCAR & Border Grill

on Monday, March 10, 2014
This past weekend NASCAR was at the Las Vegas Motor Speedeway. Luckily, my boss let me go on Saturday and I got to take Dustin! Neither of us are NASCAR fans, but thought it would be a fun experience to go out and see what all the hype was about. Let's just say we enjoyed people watching a little more than race car watching! ;)

Outside the Speedway

Our clubhouse tickets also gave us access to what is called the "Neon Garage". It's located in the center of the race track and has glass windows that look into the mechanical shops so we could see the cars being worked on.

Our seats were AMAZING and the weather was even better.

:) :) :)

Sunday morning before Dustin had to drive back to Phoenix, we decided to have brunch. He suggested Border Grill at Mandalay Bay and he was right, it was delicious! It's a mexican tapas restaurant that had awesome classic breakfast meals with a mexican twist. There's nothing I love more than breakfast food and there's nothing I love more than mexican food! Okay, so I pretty much love all food, but you get the idea. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the food, but I do have this picture of me and the hubs-to-be!

Happy Monday!

Love List

on Sunday, March 2, 2014
1. House Hunting
Dustin and I have been looking online at websites that list military-approved rentals so we can start making appointments for the first week we get there. OH MY GOSH, I swear we have found THE ONE. There were only two pictures on the site so we emailed asking for more details and photos.
Hopefully it is as awesome as I think it is... Look!
um, isn't it every girl's dream to live in a pink house?

2. Toms Desert Wedges
I splurged a little Friday, okay, I splurged a lot. But I have been eyeballing these wedges for SO LONG. I recently read one of my traveling Europe books and it gave tips to help not look like a tourist and to live like Europeans. Let's just say I need to update my wardrobe a little (definitely not upset about that) and won't be wearing t-shirts quite so often. So I figured these were a good start to spicing up my closet!

 3.  Farmhouse Table
I was browsing Pinterest earlier and found the cutest table EVER. Not only is it the cutest, but it is a DIY pin that links to a website with a complete materials list and directions...ohhhh Dustin….
I am beyond excited for us to find our new home in Italy and to get to decorate! It is taking everything in me to not start buying everything I love right now.

4. Fringe Vest
Again with the wardrobe update, I am trying to broaden my horizons and be more open to different styles. This fringe vest surprisingly caught my eye, too bad it's sold out online and will never be restocked…ever.

5. The Office
For the past few months I have been compulsively watching The Office. While I cannot stand Michael Scott and his ignorant personality, I love Jim & Pam's relationship, Dwight's ridiculousness, Andy's singing, Kevin's voice and Stanley Hudson far, far more. I'm only on season 6, but I don't think it will be much longer until I finish it all.

That's all for this week's obsessions!

PS- It is officially WEDDING MONTH! eeeek!
